Maria Brosnan photography | Me

Hopefully you'll find everything you need to know about how I work in the 'wedding' and 'portrait' section of the site but here's a little more about me.

I'm from Ealing, West London. I've lived here all my life apart from a year I spent working in Mexico. I learnt the basics of photography by working with old fashioned film cameras and developing the negatives myself. After a few years I went digital but I still love using film when I get a chance. I've taken lots of courses and masterclasses; general photography ones but also ones tailored for wedding and portrait photographers. I go to galleries, look at fashion magazines and photography books and I'm always working on little creative projects to keep inspired. I rarely leave home without a camera so I'm constantly practising.

For weddings, I use two identical cameras. This is for times when I want to use two lenses without having to miss anything while I'm changing from one to the other. I don't like people to feel like they have to act differently just because there is a camera around so I try to keep inconspicuous. I mostly use natural or available light but I use flash when it starts to get dark.  I'm fully insured and I'm a member of the SWPP.

For 'not always photography related' info, have a look on my blog (updated every Thursday) and feel free to have a nose around via any of the social media tabs.
