Here's how Isia Tlusty-Sheen describes her collection:
"Chiswick Gems is a unique collection of vintage inspired handmade jewellery. Each piece is inspired by the look and shape of the materials used to make it, ranging from antique buttons to 19th century beaded fragments from France.
Chiswick Gems can also create individual 'one-off' pieces to match and outfit or to suit a special occasion.
The bridal collection can help you incorporate 'something old, borrowed, new or blue' for your special day. There is also a lovely range of pieces suitable for bridesmaids and wedding guests."
When I went to take pictures of the jewellery it was like opening up a treasure trove. Isia really takes time and effort looking at the different materials and working out how to translate them into different pieces of jewellery. She continues the patterns and finds the right beads and backing to make each piece really special.
You can find the collection on Facebook if you search 'Chiswick Gems Jewellery' and on Instagram by following @chiswickgems42
You can also see part of Isia's eclectic collection as it is going to be on display this weekend as a part of 'Artists at Home'; an event where 52 artists in Chiswick, Hammersmith and Shepherd's Bush are opening their studios to the public. Information can be found via this link http://artistsathome.net. The jewellery will be shown alongside Anna McCallion's paintings (number 48 on the 'Artists at home' map).
